Notes:
A led class of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga covering poses of the Primary Series - a highly structured class that works through a set series of yoga poses (or ‘asanas’), aiming to perfect each pose and therefore the sequence are performed as a whole through repetition and builds the practice over time. We will go through the fundamentals of sun salutations followed by a series of standing poses done on each side, and finishes with a set of inversions and seated poses. We will aim to end the class with a quick savasana or total relaxation.
The Ashtanga sequence works every part of the body building strength, flexibility and balance as well as cardiovascular strength. It requires focus and creates rhythm of our breath and movement which gives space to check-in with the body and mind.
Drink lots of water before coming to the class and it would be advisable not to eat in the hour running up to the practice.
